The technical name for spreading solid product is called “Broadcasting” and the popularity of Broadcasting by Drone has exploded! Aerial application Drones have not only increased in their capacity to carry product but with capability in terms of efficiency.
The ability to fly over rough hilly terrain and effortlessly apply product is a huge advantage, and applying products to waterlogged or wet areas is another unique capability for an application Drone.
Avoiding damage to the ground from bogged vehicles or implements is surely a good thing!
My DJI T40 can do all of that stuff just explained and can carry up to 50kg of product.
It’s simple to Calibrate for specific material, and getting up in the air to start Broadcasting solid product. Materials like Seeds, Grain, pellets and Granule can be effortlessly applied by air.
Applications such as Pasture Seeding, Granulated Herbicide, Fertilizer, and crops can all be applied from the air by Drone.
For large jobs, I use the Mavic 3 Multispectral to map for flight planning. Mapping makes the application process so much quicker and easier, cutting down on time and money.
I can even do Variable Rate Applications with the T40’s Spreader to help boost crop yields.
