Manual Plus mode on the T40

The DJI T40 agricultural drone has alot of very useful modes, with some being Semi-Automated to fully auto. One of my favorite modes to use at the moment is called “Manual Plus”.

Unlike “fully Manual”, Manual plus is setup with parametres that are fixed to make application more accurate and evenly distributed.

Parametre settings such as, “Output per Hectare”, “Maximum flight Speed”, “Spray run widths” and “Height above ground” are all set! leaving the hard work up to the drones Flight Controller.

All the pilot has to do is push forward on the forward stick and push a button to turn and start the next run!

The mode is based on a grid pattern, where the direction is locked when traveling forward or Back. The speed is regulated by how far forward the forward stick is pushed up until the maximum speed is reached.

The height is regulated by the drones Terrain sensor, and can also be adjusted by pushing on the elevator (Up/Down) stick, obstacles can be avoided by just flying over them.

This Mode is great for using in built up areas with alot of trees and obstacles, where automated modes are quite sketchy. The ability to pause a mission by taking your hand off the forward stick is so useful.

Manual Plus mode is excellent for spot treating awkward areas without mapping also Fencelines, Buffer zones, Creeklines and Chemical Firebrakes.

I have successfully completed many Blackberry jobs using this mode alone, and will definately be using in future works.
