Aerial Seeding (or spreading) is another excellent use for an application drone! Spreading solid products like seed, grain, granule, and pellets is where they are at the peak of efficiency! Why?🤔

✓Aerial seeding has the same advantages as aerial spraying such as effortless application, non-destructive and precision but there a few more things unique to seeding.🚁🌱
→The application rate for aerial seeding is generally low, between 1 to 15 kilos per hectare, this is because the product doesn’t need to completely cover or coat the target. 💧
→Solid products are less effected by wind as they are heavier and solid, this allows for the drone’s product release height to be much higher! Higher release height equals wider spread width per run.📏
→The application travelling speed is also much quicker due to lower application rate, this also speeds up the process.🏎️
→Most solid product don’t need to be mixed, its poured straight into the drones seeder tank.
→Some products require seed treatments such as inoculated pasture seed and cricket bait.🦗
→This is normally done shortly before the application, as some products become inert if left for too long or make a mess if not allowed to dry.
✓Aerial seeding doesn’t replace aerial spraying because they are two completely different things.🤔
✓There are many things that can be done with spraying that simply can’t be done with seeding (and vice versa!).

👍But its pretty impressive to watch how quickly a decent application drone can spread product!
👍Now that’s efficient!😉
👍Oh, we also do aerial drone seeding at Oakdale UAV Solutions!😉
