With the DJI T40 the answer is yes! you can absolutely map with a spray drone, the T40 can map up to 13 hectares, which is one flight batteries worth.
Utilizing it’s FPV camera and RTK system the T40 accurately maps an area by following a grid pattern at 30 metres above the ground.
The Remote controller wirelessly recieves images, which it processes whilst the drone is still in flight. This process is quick and accurate! resulting in a high resolution map for flight planning.
A satelite basemap can be used but isn’t as precise compared to a realtime map generated by the drone. This precision is important for accurately locating obstacles and features within the treatment area.
Used with the Manual route function I can accurately flight plan 13 hectares for spraying or spreading product.
